This artwork is dedicated to all victims of Russian occupation and especially to Gali district Georgians, who were drowned while swimming the Enguri River to reach Tbilisi-controlled territory from occupied Abkhazia on April 7 2021. Two regions of Georgia, Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region which contains 20% of entire Georgia are occupied by Russian Federation. The river Enguri is dividing occupied Abkhazia from Tbilisi-controlled territory. Although nearly 90% of native Georgians were forced to leave their homes and are refugees in their own country, there are still around 30,000 Georgians living in Gali district and they have to cross river Enguri secretly if they want to get into Tbilisi-controlled territory.
